Should Barcelona Say GoodBye to Spanish League Title ??
Barcelona’s dream to win the Spanish League Title four years in a row starts to slip away, following another disappointing goalless draw over Villarreal last Saturday. They failed to grab 3 points to maintain their competition with Real Madrid , that led to a bigger point gap of 7. And even Barcelona knew that a race with 7 points difference is almost impossible to win.
Up until now, there’s only 1 team who could ends up a winner after got left with 7 points. It was Valencia, who has succeeded in defeating Barcelona with 5 points at the end of the season, 8 years ago.
But for Barcelona, the task will be more difficult since Real Madrid has showed their superiority since the start of La liga. So far, Madrid only lost 8 points after a defeat over Levante (0-1) and Barcelona (1-3), and a draw against Racing Santander (0-0) . Madrid also proves their superiority through number of goals. Until now, Real Madrid has collected 70 goals in 20 matches. The goals have beaten the previous record from Valencia (67 goals), 7 decades ago by the same jornada.
Not only that, Barcelona has lost the faith from their fans. According to El Mundo Deortivo, a survey on 3000 Barcelonistas has been taken, and the result came out rather surprising. Around 66% believed that it’s almost over for them, while 28% think that they only have a small chance to win, and only 7% believe they could still win it.
Yet, the competition is still half way, and of course, everything is possible in football.
